Gulf Medical University’s (GMU) Quality Assurance & Institutional Effectiveness (QA&IE) Deanship, along with the Alumni Office representatives, recently participated in the masterclass conducted by Times Higher Education (THE) as part of its strategic partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR). This initiative aligns with the UAE’s efforts to enhance the global competitiveness of higher education institutions and ensure their alignment with national priorities.

The masterclass, held on February 10, 2025, at the Mohamed Bin Rashid Library in Dubai, provided key insights into THE’s ranking methodology, data submission processes, and global benchmarking strategies. Experts from THE engaged with stakeholders from academia and government, equipping universities with the necessary knowledge to optimize their performance in international rankings. Participating universities, including GMU, gained a deeper understanding of their standing within the UAE’s higher education sector and received valuable guidance on areas for improvement.

Through its participation, GMU reaffirmed its commitment to continuous quality enhancement, aligning its strategies with international best practices to foster academic excellence and research advancement. The QA&IE Deanship will continue to integrate these insights into institutional planning, ensuring that GMU remains at the forefront of higher education excellence in the region.
