On October 16th, 2024, Gulf Medical University (GMU) proudly participated in the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) Forum on Best Practices in Higher Education held at the University of Khorfakkan, Sharjah, UAE. The event aimed to recognize and promote outstanding and innovative practices by universities in the UAE to enhance student experiences and improve learning outcomes.

Prof. Ibrahim Elsayed, Dean of Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness at GMU, presented GMU’s Quality Assurance & Institutional Effectiveness Portal (QA&IE Portal) as part of the forum’s highlighted projects. This innovative portal has streamlined quality-related processes at GMU by replacing traditional methods with efficient digital solutions. The portal provides centralized access to essential policies, procedures, accreditation reports, and other institutional data, benefiting faculty, staff, and students alike.
Prof. Ibrahim emphasized the portal’s role in enhancing transparency, promoting collaboration, and improving the efficiency of quality assurance practices across GMU. The QA&IE Portal’s scalable design, which integrates smart and centralized data management, has positioned GMU as a leader in quality assurance innovations, setting a benchmark for other institutions in the UAE.
