GMU Launched New Faculty Development Course on Key Policies

The QA&IE team at GMU recently announced the successful launch of a new online course designed to enhance the faculty’s understanding and implementation of essential university policies and procedures. This course, created to be both engaging and informative, targeted 21 of the most frequently used policies from the university’s extensive catalog of over 150 policies.

Course Highlights:

  • Interactive Learning: The course featured real-life scenario-based multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with each policy module comprising 5-15 questions. This format ensured that participants not only learned the policies but also understood how to apply them in practical situations.
  • Easy Policy Access: To aid learning, the first question of each scenario included a link to the relevant policy, which opened in a new tab for quick reference. This setup allowed for seamless access to policy details as participants progressed through the course.
  • Professional Development Opportunity: Participants had the chance to evaluate the course content and effectiveness upon completion. Additionally, successful course completion qualifies participants to apply for a professional development certificate, which could be advantageous during annual faculty appraisals.
