National Qualification Authority Experts Visit Gulf Medical University

The National Occupational Standard Development Experts from National Qualification Authority, Government of UAE visited Gulf Medical University, Ajman on March 05th 2018.
Gulf Medical University greeted the NQA team Adele McLean, Yulia Kolpakova and Denise Riini National Occupational Standard Development Experts. The purpose of the visit was to develop National Occupational Standards for the Medical Tourism, Nursing and Medical Imaging sectors.
The NQA team had in-depth discussions and exchanged thoughts with the Honourable Chancellor Prof. Hossam Hamdy and Vice Provost Prof. Manda Venkatramana for collaboration on Medical Education Excellence. Prof Hossam Hamdy assured the NQA team that GMU shall provide expertise as a specialized medical university in developing medical competency standards for health professions in the United Arab Emirates.
The GMU team was led by Dr. Anil Bankar, Assistant Professor – Medical Tourism in coordination with Dr.Dilip Giri, Director- Institutional Planning and Research and Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dean- College of Health Sciences.
The NQA team toured GMU campus and visited the Center for Advanced Simulation in Healthcare, the Thumbay Institute for Precision Medicine and Thumbay Labs. In the second session, Dr. Anil Bankar, Assistant Professor – Medical Tourism who is also a member of Sector Advisory Committee of NQA delivered a talk on Medical Tourism Education. The team was very impressed with the state-of-the-art facilities and were overwhelmed with the generosity and expertise during their visit.
