Gulf Medical University Signs MoU with Zoom and Receives Award for Innovation in Higher Education

Gulf Medical University (GMU) recently participated in a significant event at GITEX 2024, where the university signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zoom to strengthen digital collaboration and enhance educational innovation. The event took place on October 17, 2024, at the Zoom Studio during GITEX, one of the world’s largest technology exhibitions.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by key GMU leadership, including the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor (Academics), and the Director of the Thumbay Institute of AI. The agreement marks a major step in advancing GMU’s commitment to digital transformation in higher education.

During the event, GMU was honored by Zoom for its outstanding implementation of Workspace Management Solutions in the higher education sector. This recognition highlights GMU’s proactive efforts in leveraging cutting-edge digital tools to enhance learning environments, improve operational efficiency, and support faculty and student engagement.

The successful implementation of the Zoom Workspace Management Project at GMU was led by Suraj Sebastian, IT Lecturer and e-Learning Manager, who spearheaded the project and played a pivotal role in establishing the MoU between GMU and Zoom. Suraj’s leadership and dedication ensured the successful adoption of Zoom’s innovative solutions, enhancing digital collaboration and streamlining campus-wide communication.
