Mr. Hamid Taylor

Hamid Taylor, M.Com. L.LB ,CAIIB(I) completed his graduation from Bombay University (1968 batch). He then went on to accomplish his post graduation from the same University in 1971 followed by graduation in Law in 1973.

His working career started with a brief stint with Haj Committee in early 1964. Upon completion of graduation he moved to Income Tax Department in Bombay. He found his true calling in banking, when he moved to Bank of India in 1969. He served here until late 1975, when Dubai beckoned. Hamid landed in Dubai on 25th September 1975 and worked with Mashreq Bank (then known as Bank of Oman) Over the next 29 years, he held senior positions in some of the major banks in the UAE, namely Union Bank of the Middle East (now known as Emirates NBD), National Bank of Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank. Since 2004 till date, that is right from the inception of the company, Hamid is associated with Finance House, a listed company in which Government of Abu Dhabi through one of its investment arms, had 20% stake.

Hamid to his credit has many accomplishments in his professional banking career spanning over 48 years which includes topping All India promotional list for officers at Bank of India. Under his stewardship he has taken keen interest in promoting joint financing by Islamic and conventional banks for mega projects which received accolades and recognition from Euro Money which repeatedly conferred “best structured deal of the year award” for these projects.

Hamid and family run a modest charitable trust in Bangalore primarily supporting the education of poor students numbering about 400 each year. The Trust also extended support to the students of Navjyoti, a Delhi based charitable institution pioneered by Dr. Kiran Bedi.

As a professional Banker with a long stint in the UAE, Hamid accords top priority to ethics and integrity in banking and is a strong believer in details. He commands a lot of respect from senior bankers who recognize his contribution. He is highly social, extremely dedicated, hardworking and devotes long hours at his desk.
