GMU Interprofessional Education (IPE) Committee has organized a ‘Webinar on Interprofessional Care in Diabetes Mellitus’ on September 5, 2020.
Interprofessional care is a collaborative practice approach for a harmonious process of patientcare. Great teamwork results in better patient outcomes and more efficient healthcare processes. Managing diabetes mellitus is challenging, expertise of professionals from different health professions are required to provide integrated care.
Dr. Dixon Thomas, Chair, GMU Interprofessional Education Committee welcomed the speakers and attendees to this webinar. This webinar demonstrated how Gulf Medical University / Thumbay University Hospital professionals from Dental, Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy backgrounds work together in managing patients with diabetes mellitus.
Students and professional Healthcare providers from many organizations had attended this webinar and it was accredited by Ministry of Health & Prevention, UAE.
