GMU Interprofessional Education (IPE) Committee has been organizing Journal Clubs to equip students and faculty with best practices in IPE. Journal Club in December 2019 was presented by Dr. Pankaj Lamba, faculty from Ophthalmology, College of Medicine on December 30, 2019 at GMU campus. He highlighted 12 important tips that could be used by the students and faculty to increase the scope and implementation of IPE activities at Gulf Medical University.
Prof. Manda Venkatramana, Vice Chancellor Academics & Dean, College of Medicine, appreciated the newly appointed IPE Chairperson, Dr. Dixon Thomas, Associate Professor & Chair, Department of Pharmacy Practice, College of Pharmacy for his efforts for initiating the monthly IPE Journal Club Presentation. He emphasized the need for more collaboration and teamwork among professions to implement IPE in both preclinical and clinical phases of our programs.
Students and faculty from different GMU Colleges/Programs participated in discussions led by Dr. Pankaj Lamba with action plans to improve the implementation of IPE activities at GMU.
