Four Gulf Medical University Researchers have been named to Stanford’s list of the most prominent 2% of the world’s Scientists in the field of Cancer Research, Medicine and Medical Education

Gulf Medical University announced that four members of its academic staff have been named to the American Stanford University’s list of the world’s most prominent 2% of scientists for the year 2022. Stanford University is one of the world’s most prestigious scientific research and medical learning institutions. The Stanford report identifies the most influential scientists whose publications have received the most citations in scientific research.
The University Chancellor, Professor Hossam Hamdy, stated that this achievement reflects the university’s interest in scientific research and its excellence in it, as well as confirming the university’s distinction and leadership in medical education research, as faculty members have published more than 65 researches in this important field in the last four years. The faculty members whose names appeared on the list are: Prof. Salem Chouaib, Director, Thumbay Institute for Precision Medicine and Cancer Research, Prof. Hossam Hamdy, Professor of Surgery and Medical Education, Prof. David Taylor, Professor of Medical Education, and Prof. Sherry Jacob, Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Gulf Medical University is a pioneer in precision medicine and drug discovery, particularly in cancer detection and therapy. The university places a high value on scientific research, in which 2,500 undergraduate and postgraduate students participate. Over the last three years, 130 academic members have produced 650 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.
