The Quality Assurance & Institutional Effectiveness Team Participated in “Benchmarking for Best Practices in Higher Education”

On October 24 and 25, 2022, Dr. Ibrahim Elsayed, Director of the QA&IE Unit, Dr. Sara Osman, Program Review and Accreditation Manager, and Dr. Walid Elsayed, Associate Dean Academic, College of Dentistry, participated in the workshop: “Benchmarking for Best Practices in Higher Education”.

The workshop was organized by the Center for Learning Innovations and Customized Knowledge Solutions (CLICKS) and facilitated by Dr. Mukhtar Benhadaria, Director of the Quality Management Department at the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance.

The workshop discussed what is benchmarking, benchmark, and best practice, types, and processes of benchmarking. Later, the CLICKS team explained how to understand the institution’s Current Position and develop its own benchmarking scope and perform a separate internal Analysis.

This two-day program took the participants beyond metrics to understand the underlying practices that contribute to institutional performance and provided a detailed step-by-step understanding of benchmarking in higher education and its implementation supported by hands-on tools, techniques, and case studies.
