The MoE’s CHEDS workshop was held at the MOE Teachers Training Centre in Ajman, on September 21, 2022 and was jointly organized by different departments of MoE including academic planning (CHEDS, Classification project, data audit and accuracy), Education Data Centre (EDC), Research and Innovation, Graduate and Labour Market Studies (GLMS) and Quality assurance department.

Representatives from the following departments of GMU attended the workshop:
- Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness
- Human Resources
- Finance
- Admissions
- Registrar’s office
- Alumni Affairs

The workshop covered a lot of information that was very helpful. The academic planning team highlighted on the key aspects related to stringent deadlines and tougher data quality test procedures involved in institutional data submission to CHEDS and its impact on the institutional classification framework KPIs. It described the steps involved in the academic planning process (CHEDS, Classification project, data audit and accuracy). The MoE’s Quality Assurance section also provided detailed instructions on how to conduct and follow up with the Faculty Survey and Student Experience Survey. The processes involved with the Employers survey and the Graduate Destination Survey were covered in detail by the Graduate and Labour Market Studies (GLMS) team. Additionally, an update on the mechanisms used to monitor the research performance was presented by the department of research and innovation.
