An International Webinar on “Enhancing Quality through Management and Reporting of High Volume of Surveys: GMU’s Success Story” was presented by Prof. Sherief Khalifa, Vice Chancellor for Quality and Global Engagement and Dean, College of Pharmacy and Dr. Syeda Asma Fatima, Associate Director, and Manager Institutional Research-Quality Assurance &Institutional Effectiveness unit on 16th of March 2022.
Around 111 global participants attended the session from various countries including United Kingdom, Denmark, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Pakistan, Egypt, Azerbaijan, United States, Jordan, Canada, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait.

The objective of the webinar was to present the best practices implemented at Gulf Medical University on how several surveys and evaluations administered across different health professions programs have served towards the continuous quality enhancement of GMU and its programs.
Prof. Sherief presented highlights of the Quality Assurance Framework of the University and the role of the pillars of the framework in strengthening the culture of continuous quality enhancement at all levels of the university operations. He also highlighted how the different quality committees and offices communicate and work together to produce and analyse reports, write up action plans, implement the action plans and follow up on the implementation and close the loop.

Dr. Asma presented an alignment framework between GMU surveys/evaluations and the 11 accreditation standards from MoE-CAA (Commission for Academic Accreditation). She presented implementation of the quality models such as Deming cycle and RADAR-EFQM models at GMU to achieve evaluation goals of continuous quality enhancement. She highlighted how the technical features in the survey application, helped in engaging stakeholders in the process, as well as enhancing the unit’s efficiency through optimization of Survey design, administration & reporting of feedback results to meet end-user expectations.
