Introduction
This 2-hour online workshop is the second in a series of 4 workshops designed to support and develop selected faculty from the Military Medical Academy (MMA) so that they may apply principles of new contemporary learning theories to teaching and learning in the clinical environment. This workshop will review the core principles of Competency-Based Education and Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs); and their impact on Educational Design.

This course is ideal for selected clinicians and academic faculty from the Military Medical Academy.
Course Leader
Prof. Hossam Hamdy is Professor of Surgery and Medical Education. An internationally known medical educator and active Paediatric Surgeon. A scholar, professional, and leader in higher education in the Middle East and renowned internationally for the last 40 years, he has established several Medical Colleges in Egypt, Bahrain, UAE. Prof. Hamdy is a member of the Editorial Board of several Journals in Medical Education. He is active in research and has published more than 70 studies that are highly cited and introduced several innovation and best practices in Medical Education. His work and contribution to Medicine and Medical Education over more than 40 years has been acknowledged by his numerous international awards.
Pedagogy
The pedagogy for this online workshop will combine expert content delivery with group discussion and co-creation of knowledge to maximise retention and empower learners to apply practical skills in their current roles.
