Prof. Ming Kuang is a distinguished international academician and medical professional associated with several prestigious international institutions and professional bodies. Presently, he serves the Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU), China in various administrative capacities such as the Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH), SYSU; Executive Vice Dean of Zhongshan School of Medicine, SYSU; Chief of the Cancer Center, FAH-SYSU and Director of the Medical Education Committee, FAH-SYSU.
As a doctor, Prof. Kuang majors in minimally invasive treatments for liver cancer, biliary tract cancer and pancreatic cancer, such as laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, and image-guided tumor ablation. His professional interests includes the mechanism, prevention and treatment of liver cancer recurrence and metastases, and precision cancer research including immunotherapy.
Prof. Kuang has published more than 100 original articles on Ann Oncol, Nat Commun, Hepatology, Radiology, and Clin Cancer Res in recent years. He has achieved 10 major grants from the government, including National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China in 2018, the most important grant for Chinese physicians.
Today, Prof. Kuang is one of the leading experts in the field of tumor ablation in China. He was recently honored with1st prize at the 2019 Guangdong Province Medical Science Awards, for his contribution in precise ablation against liver cancer metastasis and recurrence. He is faculty of ECIO and APCIO since 2009, and chairman or vice chairman of many medical associations in China. Prof. Kuang was awarded “Distinguished Achievement Award” in Asian Conference on Tumor Ablation (ACTA) 2017.
