GMU has over 1800 students from 80 different nationalities and offers 19 accredited programs run by the 6 constituent colleges in the field of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physiotherapy, nursing, biomedical sciences, medical laboratory sciences, medical imaging sciences, anesthesia technology, etc. GMU also offers an array of graduate programs including Master in Public Health in collaboration with University of Arizona, USA; Joint Masters in Health Professions Education with FAIMER; Master of Dental Surgery in Periodontics and Endodontics; Master in Clinical Pharmacy; Master of Physical Therapy; Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences and Executive Master in Healthcare Management and Economics.
We give great importance to the quality of our programs and service. Our Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Program Outcomes are aligned to the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME) Standards. Our Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences Program is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), UK and our PharmD Program is certified by Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), USA. Our hospitals are JCI accredited and our Laboratories are CAP accredited, signifying that we give high priority to the quality.
The creation of the Thumbay Medicity defines the massive infrastructure expansion in the university and its healthcare system represented by the Thumbay Group of Hospitals and is in keeping with our strategic goal. Establishment of chain of ambulatory healthcare facilities - Thumbay Clinics in the community, day-care centers, pharmacies, laboratories are all value additions to further strengthen the experiential components of our programs, provide early and ample clinical opportunities for our students across programs, and at another level employment opportunities for our own graduates.
The Thumbay Research Institute of Precision Medicine Research is the hub for postgraduate studies in Biomedical Sciences, translational research and innovation. The vision of the institute is to become a center of excellence in biomedical research and a leader in developing personalized medicine and Translational Research.
The national, international, and regional engagements of GMU have grown tremendously over the years. Currently, there are more than 68 collaborating agreements with top international universities in Europe, United States, Japan, Malaysia and Far East, giving an opportunity for clinical placements, students exchange, research collaborations and elective placements.
Our alumni remain our best ambassadors. Our 1800+ graduates from over 16 cohorts are well placed across the globe including many practicing in the country and the region contributing to the health economy of the nation and the region which aligns with our vision and mission.
