Thumbay College of Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) proudly conducted its White Coat Ceremony on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, marking a significant milestone in the journey of its inaugural Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students and their formal entry into the noble profession of veterinary medicine.
The prestigious ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Kaltham Ali Kayaf, Director of Animal Health and Development, along with Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President, Thumbay Group, and Prof. Manda Venkatramana, Chancellor, Gulf Medical University.
The occasion was also attended by Prof. Maher Al Masri, Vice Chancellor – Academics, Dr. Mohammad Khalifeh, Dean, Thumbay College of Veterinary Medicine, and the Deans of the various colleges of Gulf Medical University. Faculty members, students of TCVM, and the parents and families of the students were also present, making the occasion a truly memorable and celebratory gathering.
The White Coat Ceremony represents an important tradition in healthcare education, symbolizing the students’ commitment to professionalism, compassion, integrity, responsibility, and the health and welfare of animals. The donning of the white coat marks the beginning of their professional journey and serves as a reminder of the trust and responsibility that come with becoming a veterinarian.
The occasion was a proud and memorable milestone not only for the students and their families, but also for Thumbay College of Veterinary Medicine, Gulf Medical University, and the entire Thumbay Group community, as the institution takes forward its vision of advancing veterinary education, animal healthcare, and the One Health approach in the region.
