TCVM students welcomed Dr. Irshad Khan, Technical Farm Manager at Marmum Dairy Farm, who shared his professional experience in large-scale dairy farm management and livestock production.

During the session, Dr. Irshad discussed the practical role of veterinarians in modern livestock farming, including animal health monitoring, biosafety and biosecurity, disease prevention, animal welfare, and responsible farm management. He highlighted how veterinary practice works alongside livestock production to support herd health, productivity, and sustainable farm operations.

Dr. Irshad also introduced students to the wider responsibilities of veterinarians within the food production system, particularly their contribution to food safety, public health, and One Health. An interactive discussion with the students allowed them to explore the realities of farm-based veterinary work and broaden their understanding of the professional and career opportunities available within the livestock sector.
