Greetings from the Deanship of Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness, GMU!
Quality, in its truest sense, is not a checklist; it is a culture. It is the daily commitment of every faculty member, administrator, and student to do things better, more thoughtfully, and with greater purpose. At the QA&IE Deanship, that commitment is our entire reason for being.
Our work is broad by design. We support our seven colleges through accreditation, internal review, operational enhancement, and program review, with a firm focus on student-centred teaching and learning — ensuring that every academic offering at Gulf Medical University meets the rigorous standards set by the Commission for Academic Accreditation and our international accreditation partners, and that our graduates are ready to become global citizens prepared to make their mark in their chosen fields. We lead and facilitate strategic planning at the institutional level, translating GMU's vision into measurable objectives and ensuring that progress is monitored, reported, and acted upon. We manage GMU's presence across the world's leading university ranking frameworks, from QS and THE to sustainability and impact ratings, because we believe that being measured against the best is how we become better. And we anchor everything in data through institutional research, KPI monitoring, HEDB reporting, risk management, and the systems that keep our university informed, compliant, and forward-looking.
But beyond the frameworks and the metrics, what drives this Deanship is a genuine belief in what Gulf Medical University represents — a health sciences university with real clinical depth, a diverse and dedicated community where the world comes to learn, and an ambition to be recognised among the leading institutions in the region and beyond.
I am honoured to lead this work alongside an exceptional team, and I look forward to continuing to build a culture of quality that every member of the GMU community can be proud of.
