About The Program

Gulf Medical University, UAE is happy to announce its 20^th Annual edition of the Inter–School Science Exhibition Competition. A Hybrid competition

• Project, Poster, AI Contest and Business Idea (On-Site Gulf Medical University 5th & 6th November 2026)
• Painting, Poetry and Music (Online MASE portal)

Organizer

The competition is hosted by Gulf Medical University, Ajman, UAE; the leading Medical University in the Gulf region, offering high quality healthcare education and training with Bachelor and Master programs since 1998.

Eligibility

Any student in UAE from the classes 10, 11 & 12 are eligible to participate in the Competition.

Categories & Themes

Project

Students participate individually while considering the theme of medical science research (Note: flammable liquids and gases projects should be notified to the management in advance).

Painting

Digital Panting and Canvas Based painting theme

• 10th Graders – Nature & Innovation: Harmony Through Sustainability
• 11th Graders (Sub-Seniors) – Holistic Health: Balancing Mind, Body & Environment
• 12th Graders (Seniors) – The Future of Global Health: Innovation, Equity, and Action
• Student participation: 1 student can participate with one painting. Please upload the picture of painting in painting category.
• Canvas Painting Specification Size
  60 cm x 40 cm (+/- 5 cm variation only allowed)

Note: Ideal size the judging committee is aiming for is 60cm x 37cms – in the Golden Ratio for a more aesthetic harmonious look while exhibiting these works).
Medium Water Color / Acrylic / Oil / Mixed Media on suitable surfaces. The painting has to be mounted on a lightweight canvas board only. This is done to protect the painting from damage when displayed and/ or taken off.
Note: Each contestant is allowed to submit from the four-color styles mentioned only. Paintings not mounted on canvas board will not be accepted.

Digital Painting Specification
Digital has allowed the creation of entirely new images that were very difficult to achieve using traditional techniques of cutting and montage. Please use bright colors and upload the image of digital painting in painting category.

Song/Music competition (English or Arabic)

• Student participation: Maximum 5 students can participate in a Band.
  The contest is open to singers or musicians who are in 10, 11 or 12 Grade students.
  For the purposes of the competition, lyrics, and music must be original and unpublished.
  Each entry must be an original, unpublished musical composition for which the contestant retains the copyright and authority to submit and perform the composition in the contest.
  In the submission a single accompanist may sing along with you, play an instrument, or both.
  Competitors will be evaluated on technique, musicianship, and overall presentation.
  Any musical Instrument can be used.

Poetry Competition (English or Arabic)

• Student participation: 1 student can participate in Poetry.
  The competition is open to anyone who are in 10, 11 or 12 Grade students.
  There is a limit of one entry per person for poetry competition. All entries will be considered anonymously by the judges.
  Under no circumstances can alterations be made to poems once entered.
  The judges read all the entries; their decision is final. Neither the judges nor Poetry Society staff will enter any correspondence.
  All entries are judged anonymously, and the poet’s name must not appear on the poem itself.
  All poems must have a title and must not exceed 20 lines in length (excluding title). Entries can be on any subject and language (English or Arabic).
  Poems must be the entrant’s original work.

AI Idea Competition

Theme: “SmartCare AI: Innovative AI Solutions for Safer and Better Healthcare”

Competition Purpose. This competition invites students to identify a real healthcare challenge and present a clear, practical idea showing how Artificial Intelligence can be used to address it. The competition focuses on problem-solving, appropriate use of AI, healthcare relevance, feasibility, responsible use, and clear communication.

1. Eligibility and Team Formation
   • Each team must consist of 2 or 3 students from the same school.
   • Each team must submit one original competition entry.
   • No programming or previous Artificial Intelligence experience is required.
2. Competition Challenge
   Teams must identify a real-world problem related to healthcare, patient care, hospitals, wellness, disease prevention, public health, healthcare accessibility, or healthcare operations. They must then propose an AI-enabled solution and explain how the solution would work, who would benefit, and what practical impact it could have. The proposal must also state what makes the idea innovative and outline realistic steps for initial implementation and future development.
   Core structure: Healthcare Problem → AI-Enabled Solution → How It Works → Users and Benefits → Feasibility → Responsible Use

   Teams may select a challenge from any healthcare area. Few examples include:

4. PowerPoint Submission Requirements
   Each team must submit one PowerPoint presentation in .pptx format. The presentation must contain no more than 8 content slides, excluding a final reference slide when references are used.

   • Entries must be the original work of the participating team.
   • The proposed solution must address a healthcare or health-related problem and must include a meaningful role for Artificial Intelligence.
   • A conventional website, mobile application, or digital service without a clear AI function will not qualify as an AI-enabled solution.
   • Any data, images, statistics, or external material used in the presentation must be acknowledged on the relevant slide or on a final reference slide.
   • The presentation must use clear and respectful language and must not make unsupported claims.
   • Teams must follow the allocated presentation time. Content presented after the time limit may be stopped by the session coordinator.

Business Idea Competition

• • Team Size: 2–3 students per team
  • Submission: Presentation or recorded video pitching a Startup/Business Idea

Theme: “Augmented Health: Innovating for Better Health, Wellness & Well-being”

Participants are invited to develop innovative business ideas that augment and improve human health, wellness, and well-being. The concept of Augmented Health goes beyond using Artificial Intelligence or digital technology. It encourages students to explore how technology, human creativity, new business models, better processes, community initiatives, sustainability, and social innovation can work together to improve health outcomes and quality of life.

Ideas may address challenges related to healthcare delivery, preventive health, mental and physical wellness, healthy lifestyles, accessibility, affordability, patient experience, healthy ageing, community health, sustainability, or other emerging health and wellness needs.

Competition Requirements:

1. Concept Overview

Provide a brief description of your proposed business, product, service, or initiative. What is the idea, and how does it contribute to better health, wellness, or well-being?

2. Problem & Opportunity

Identify a real-world health or wellness challenge, unmet need, or opportunity.

Explain why the issue matters and how your idea addresses it.

3. Proposed Solution

Describe your solution and how it works. The solution may involve a product, service, process improvement, community initiative, digital solution, new business model, or combination of approaches.

4. Target Market & Beneficiaries

Who will benefit from your idea? Examples may include patients, healthcare professionals, children, youth, elderly populations, people with disabilities, caregivers, workplaces, schools, families, or communities.

5. Innovation & Uniqueness

What makes your idea different? Innovation may come from technology, design, affordability, accessibility, sustainability, convenience, service delivery, or a novel approach to an existing problem.

6. Business Model & Value Creation

How will the idea create value and remain sustainable? Explain how it could generate revenue or operate through a social enterprise, nonprofit, partnership, subscription, community, or other suitable model.

7. Implementation & Feasibility

Outline the key steps required to turn the idea into reality. Consider resources, partnerships, people, infrastructure, technology, and other requirements.

8. Marketing & Community Engagement

How will you reach your intended users or beneficiaries? Describe how you would create awareness, encourage participation, and promote adoption.

9. Health, Social & Sustainability Impact

Explain the potential impact of your idea. How could it improve health outcomes, quality of life, accessibility, affordability, sustainability, or community well-being?

10. Future Potential & Scalability

How could your idea grow in the future? Consider its potential to reach larger populations, enter new markets, address additional health challenges, or be adapted to different communities and regions.

Students are encouraged to think broadly about the question:

“How can we augment the way people live, stay healthy, receive care, and experience well-being?”

The solution does not have to be technology-based. It may use AI or emerging technologies where appropriate, but equally strong ideas may emerge from better services, sustainable products, creative business models, behavioral interventions, community initiatives, or human-centered innovations. The strongest proposals will demonstrate creativity, relevance, feasibility, sustainability, business potential, scalability, and meaningful impact on health and well-being.

Exhibition Rules

• The event is open for students of Grade 10, 11 and 12.
• Student is allowed to participate in multiple categories (Projects, Posters, Paintings, Music, Poetry, Business Idea or AI Contest)
• The theme of the exhibits is strictly limited to science or Business.
• Once the entries are approved, please share it with your friends to receive votes.

Disclaimer policy & Deadlines

• GMU is fully authorized to display the results and winner images over social media
• Winners have ​1​5 days to claim their prize​ and need to bring their Emirates ID as proof.
• Participant students are allowed to share MASE links over their social media for registration and vote purpose
• GMU has all the rights to disqualify the work not conforming to the specified directions will be disqualified

Deadline: 

• Projects and Posters online registration will close on 15^th October 2026.
• Paintings, Music, Poetry, AI Contest and Business Ideas are required to be uploaded with required information on or before 15th October 2026.

Registration and Procedures

• GMU will intimate the winners prior to the dates of exhibition and prize distribution when the Panel of Judges finishes their evaluation. GMU will exhibit all entries at the exhibition alongside the Winning entries.

Judgment

All the work will be reviewed by a selected Panel of Judges appointed by GMU. Evaluation will be based on the theme for the category, quality / difficulty of work, its artistic value and overall presentation. The decision of the judges will be final, and the entries receiving the maximum votes will be awarded prizes separately.

Works should be Original and genuinely done by the participant. Student must be exhibiting on 5^th and 6^th November 2026 to attend inquiries regarding their project and poster. The online competition entries for painting, music, poetry, and Business Idea will be evaluated by Jury on 6^th November 2026 at the online portal of MASE 2026.
