In celebration of International Yoga Day 2026, the Human Resources Department of Gulf Medical University (GMU) successfully organized a five-day yoga program titled “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” from 16 to 22 June 2026. The initiative aimed to encourage faculty and staff to embrace holistic wellness practices that support physical, mental, and emotional well-being throughout life.

The program was conducted by Mr. Kumar, a certified yoga trainer accredited by the Ministry of Ayush, Yoga Certification Board of India. Through a series of interactive and practical sessions, participants were introduced to yoga techniques designed to improve flexibility, balance, posture, breathing, and overall health.
Throughout the program, attendees actively engaged in guided yoga practices and learned how simple daily routines can contribute to healthy ageing. The sessions emphasized the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle, managing stress effectively, and cultivating mindfulness to enhance quality of life.
The program concluded on 22 June 2026 with a special closing session, where participants reflected on their learning journey and the positive impact of yoga on their well-being. The event also provided an opportunity for employees to come together, prioritize self-care, and strengthen a culture of health and wellness within the university community.
The Human Resources Department extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Kumar for sharing his expertise and inspiring participants to incorporate yoga into their daily lives. The enthusiastic participation of faculty and staff contributed significantly to the success of the program.
As an institution committed to excellence in education and well-being, Gulf Medical University continues to support initiatives that promote healthier lifestyles and foster a positive work environment.
