A major focus area of TIPH is addressing the burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), particularly the “Big Four” diseases in the UAE: diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and respiratory diseases. Through research and community-based initiatives, TIPH works to identify risk factors, improve prevention and management strategies, and enhance public awareness to support healthier communities.
Evidence-based medicine and public health practice remain the foundation of all TIPH activities. The institute emphasizes the integration of scientific evidence, expert knowledge, and community needs in developing effective health interventions, policies, and preventive strategies that contribute to sustainable population health outcomes.
In addition to research and education, TIPH promotes innovation and knowledge translation by transforming research findings into practical solutions, health promotion initiatives, and policy recommendations that positively impact society and support national and global public health priorities.
