I am delighted to address you as the Director of the Thumbay Institute of Population Health (TIPH), established in 2023 under Gulf Medical University. Since its inception, TIPH has been actively engaged in advancing population health through research, education, community engagement, and strategic collaborations with national and international partners.

TIPH was founded with the vision of serving as a center of excellence in population health research and related activities. Over the past years, the institute has initiated and strengthened several collaborations with reputed academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and public health partners, fostering multidisciplinary approaches to address contemporary public health challenges. Through these partnerships, we aim to promote innovative research, evidence-based practice, policy development, and capacity-building initiatives that contribute to improving the health and well-being of populations.

The institute brings together expertise from diverse disciplines, including Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Demography, Health policy, Evidence-Based Public Health, and Community health. By integrating knowledge across these areas, TIPH seeks to generate impactful research and practical solutions to emerging health issues at local, regional, and global levels.

Research remains at the heart of our mission. We are committed to conducting high-quality and collaborative studies that contribute to scientific advancement while addressing real-world public health priorities. In addition, education and training activities are central to our objectives, with a strong focus on developing future leaders in public health and population research.

Community engagement continues to be one of the core strengths of TIPH. We believe that meaningful improvements in population health can only be achieved through strong partnerships and active involvement of communities and stakeholders. Accordingly, the institute regularly undertakes outreach programs, awareness initiatives, academic events, and collaborative projects that support community well-being and public health advocacy.

As TIPH continues to expand its activities and collaborations, we warmly invite reputed institutions, organizations, researchers, and public health professionals to collaborate with us in population health research and related initiatives. We believe that collaborative partnerships are essential for generating impactful evidence, sharing expertise, and addressing complex public health challenges effectively.

I sincerely thank all our collaborators, partners, faculty members, researchers, and stakeholders for their continuous support and contributions to the growth of TIPH. We look forward to strengthening existing partnerships and establishing new collaborations that will further advance population health research, education, and community engagement globally.

“Together, let us work towards building healthier communities through collaboration, innovation, and excellence in population health.”
