Dr. Varoon C. Jaiswal joined as Assistant Professor, Department of Physiotherapy, College of Health Sciences at Gulf Medical University since April 2026. He is an accomplished academician, researcher, and clinician in the field of Physiotherapy, with over 16 years of extensive experience in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Physiotherapy in India. He has served as Professor and Head of Department, demonstrating strong leadership in academics, clinical practice, research mentorship, and program coordination. He holds a Ph.D. in Cardio-Respiratory Physiotherapy and possesses advanced clinical expertise in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, exercise prescription, and evidence-based practice.
Dr. Jaiswal is recognized for his innovative student-centric teaching strategies that effectively integrate academic excellence with practical clinical skills, fostering engaging learning environments and enhancing patient care outcomes. He has published 19 research articles in national and international indexed journals and has actively contributed to scientific advancement through conference presentations, workshops, and academic collaborations. He has also served as Member Secretary of an Institutional Ethics Committee in his previous institute and continues to contribute to research governance and ethics.
He is a recognized Ph.D. committee expert at Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, India, and KLE Academy of Higher Education & Research, contributing to doctoral research evaluation and mentorship. He is a recipient of the prestigious Scientifica Star Award for his consistent excellence in research presentations, along with multiple awards in paper presentations at national conferences. His special interest lies in innovation in physiotherapy, including medical device development, with a strong focus on enhancing student learning experiences and improving patient outcomes, thereby contributing to the advancement of the profession.
