Dr. Raheleh Masoudi

Associate Professor of Genetics

Dr. Raheleh Masoudi earned her Ph.D. in Biology (Molecular Neurosciences) from McMaster University, Canada, where her research focused on neurotrophin dysregulation in neurodegenerative diseases. She later completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at McMaster University, investigating virus-host interactions in human diseases. Before joining Gulf Medical University, Dr. Masoudi served as an Assistant Professor of Molecular Genetics at Shiraz University in Iran for a decade, where she taught undergraduate, M.Sc. and Ph.D. courses in Genetics and supervised multiple M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses. She has also held adjunct faculty positions at the American University in Dubai and the University of Dubai, teaching courses in Health technology and Innovation, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, and Human nutrition.

Her previous research focused on the molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration and the pathways regulating cancer cell growth, with an emphasis on the therapeutic role of herbal medicine. She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals. At Gulf Medical University, she is passionate about integrating research, teaching, and mentorship to prepare students for academic, clinical, and industry careers.
