Dr. Pankaj Lamba has been associated with the Thumbay Group for almost 15 years and is currently the Specialist in Ophthalmology and Clinical Lecturer, and the Phase III Director of the MBBS program in the Department of Clinical Sciences at the Gulf Medical University.

Dr. Pankaj Lamba passed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Nagpur, Maharashtra, in the year 1997 and his Diploma in Ophthalmology from AMU, Aligarh, India in the year 2001. He was awarded Gold Medal for standing first in the University. He perused his Diplomate National Board in Ophthalmology which he completed in 2004 from Delhi, India. He was awarded FRCS in Ophthalmology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2004. His interest in teaching continued, and he completed a Masters in Health Professions Education from Gulf Medical University

Dr. Pankaj Lamba has extensive teaching and clinical experience of over 15 years in various capacities. He was awarded best clinical teacher for the Phase III MBBS program by Gulf Medical University. He takes teaching and learning sessions for all 5 years of the MBBS training program. He is liked by students and the faculty alike.

Dr. Pankaj has a keen interest in education, especially e-learning and has extensive experience in developing and executing e-learning modules in the teaching program. He is the international faculty of the International Council of Ophthalmology for their web-based teaching program modules on “ Web-Based teaching, An Online Course for Ophthalmic Educators and Developing and using webinars for teaching”. He is instrumental in developing and implementing an e-portfolio in the MBBS program. He has a vision of developing and implementing e-learning strategies in various programs of the Gulf Medical University

Dr. Pankaj has a keen research interest and has many publications and conference presentations to his credit. He has many publications in journals and chapters in a book. He is looking forward to playing a key role in the ever-changing medical education strategies of the future.
