MD Pathology
Dr. Mohammad Mesbahuzzaman earned his MBBS from Bangladesh Medical College & Hospital in September 1998. Following his internship at the same institution, he completed a one-year residency in Pediatric Medicine at Dhaka Shishu (Children’s) Hospital in 2000. He then served as a Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy at Bangladesh Medical College for three years.
In June 2011, Dr. Mesbahuzzaman obtained his MD in Pathology (Histopathology & Cytopathology) from Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka University. His MD thesis, “Study of Tumor Markers in the Evaluation of Malignant Pleural Effusion,” was later published by Scholars’ Press. After briefly practicing as a Junior Consultant in Clinical Pathology at Lab Aid Diagnostics, Uttara, Dhaka, he joined Gulf Medical University in Nov’ 2011.
To enhance his teaching and mentoring skills, he earned a Graduate Diploma in Health Professions Education (HPS) from Gulf Medical University in 2012. He has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, workshops, and training programs in the UAE.
Dr. Mesbahuzzaman has been a member of Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC), the International Academy of Cytology (IAC) and the European Society of Pathology (ESP) for the past two years. He is also a valued Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Collaborator at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), University of Washington.
He successfully completed (on-line) Certificate Course in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) from Clinical Trial Centre, University of Hong Kong which was supported by European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) (www.edctp.org).
With a passion for medical education, he is dedicated to teaching and mentoring medical students, preparing them for future challenges, and supporting them in achieving their professional aspirations.
