Dr. Ahmed Abdelrahim joined as Professor in Department of Medical Imaging Sciences, College of Health Sciences in February 2026. He was Professor at Alzaiem Alazhari University (AAU – Sudan) since 2003 before joining GMU. He worked as teaching assistant, lecturer, associate professor and as professor at the Alzaiem Alazhari University. He was dean faculty of radiological sciences and medical imaging 2013 – 2018 and dean faculty of graduate studies from 2018 to 2022.
Dr. Ahmed current research focuses on perceptions of Medical Imaging, Receiver Operating Characteristic analysis of performance, human performance. He had published more than 45 peer-reviewed articles in the field of medical imaging. He had worked as external examiner for post graduate students with national and international universities. He also worked as facilitator for ISUOG in Sudan. The outcomes his work have improved clinical practice in medical imaging, impacted upon national guidelines, and informed international reports.
