GMU’s College of Pharmacy Welcomes Emirates Clinical Pharmacy Society to Discuss Partnership and Career Development

On Wednesday, 14th of January 2026, the College of Pharmacy at Gulf Medical University (GMU) welcomed a delegation from the Emirates Clinical Pharmacy Society (ECPS), led by Dr. Saeed Abdullah Hussein, President of the Society, and Dr. Ghattas Abudawoud, Cultural Committee Chairperson and alumnus of GMU’s Master in Clinical Pharmacy program.

The visit provided an excellent platform for constructive dialogue on strengthening collaboration between GMU and ECPS, with a shared focus on advancing clinical pharmacy education and practice in the UAE. Discussions during the meeting centered on potential areas of collaboration and expanding career opportunities for pharmacy graduates, particularly in clinical and patient-centered roles.

A key emphasis was placed on the importance of integrating clinical pharmacy experience early in the academic journey, a vision that closely aligns with the College of Pharmacy’s commitment to producing highly skilled, practice-ready pharmacists.
