The College of Pharmacy successfully hosted an informative professional development session titled “From Graduate to Registered Pharmacist: Your UK Licensing Roadmap” on Friday, May 22, 2026. The session was organized to help pharmacy students better understand the pathway toward obtaining pharmacist licensure in the United Kingdom after graduating from the UAE.
The session was delivered by Dr. Ahmed Abdeldayem, a Rotational Clinical Pharmacist at University Hospital Southampton, who shared valuable insights from his professional journey and experience within the UK healthcare system.
During the session, students gained a comprehensive overview of the licensing process, including eligibility requirements, the Overseas Pharmacists Assessment Programme (OSPAP) pathway, registration steps, training expectations, and career opportunities available for international pharmacy graduates in the UK. Dr. Abdeldayem also discussed practical advice for students preparing for postgraduate training and transitioning into professional practice abroad.
The event provided attendees with a clearer understanding of international career pathways and encouraged students to explore global opportunities in the field of pharmacy. Students actively engaged in the discussion and benefited from the speaker’s firsthand experiences and guidance.
The College of Pharmacy strives to create meaningful future opportunities for its students by organizing educational and career-oriented events that broaden their professional horizons and prepare them for success in both local and international healthcare environments.
