A Faculty Development Seminar on Use of AI in Teaching and Learning: An Effective Approach was conducted for the College of Pharmacy faculty, Gulf Medical University, on January 16. The session was delivered by Dr. Ahsan Sethi, Associate Professor, Founding Program Coordinator, and Chair of the Research Network Group in Health Professions Education at Qatar University Health Sector.

The seminar highlighted the use of AI tools in teaching, learning, and research, with a discussion on commonly used AI applications and their role in enhancing educational practices. Dr. Sethi also addressed how education evolves in the context of AI, outlining both the benefits and challenges of AI use in student learning, including ethical considerations and academic integrity.

The interactive question-and-answer session was highly engaging, during which Dr. Sethi shared a framework of good practice for AI disclosure in academic writing. The session was well received and contributed significantly to faculty capacity building and the responsible integration of AI in education.
