GMU PharmD Students Secure Prestigious Win at ICPM 14 Poster Competition

In a remarkable display of academic excellence, the College of Pharmacy at Gulf Medical University (GMU) is proud to announce that its PharmD students have emerged as winners in the highly competitive poster competition at the 14th International Conference of Pharmacy and Medicine (ICPM 14). Held from January 20–22, 2026, the event is one of the region’s most significant gatherings for pharmaceutical and medical professionals, focusing on the future of healthcare technology and industry transformation.

The winning team comprised of Zeinab Shuaib Azeez, Layan Al Tawbah, Leen Imad, and Enji Zino, impressed a panel of international judges with their research titled: “Insights of Prevalence, Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice for Smoking Vape Among University Students: A Cross-sectional Study.” This achievement highlights the students’ scientific rigor and their ability to address pressing public health issues with evidence-based data.

Under the supervision of Dr. Diana Malaeb, the students translated complex academic theories into an impactful research presentation. Dr. Malaeb’s guidance was instrumental in fostering the critical thinking and professional confidence required to excel on a global stage. This victory not only celebrates the individual hard work of the students but also underscores the College’s commitment to a research-driven curriculum that empowers students to lead and innovate within the healthcare sector.

By securing this win at ICPM 14, these rising pharmacists have demonstrated that GMU students are equipped to meet the evolving demands of global healthcare.
