Midwestern University, Chicago students visit and work with GMU PharmD students

On September 16, 2019, four final year PharmD students from Midwestern University, Chicago, visited GMU College of Pharmacy and our academic hospitals. This is the second time students from Midwestern University visit our College.

The students Lin, Rose, Katarzyna, and Jagravi participated in a student symposium with GMU College of Pharmacy students. The students were excited as they exchanged information and ideas about pharmacy education and the healthcare systems in both USA and UAE.

After the symposium, the students were taken for a tour of GMU facilities including the new pharmacy practice and sterile compounding skills labs, state-of-the-art simulation center, diagnostic and research labs, library and testing center. The visit also included our practice sites Thumbay University Hospital and Thumbay Hospital Ajman.

In October, 2019 GMU Master in Clinical Pharmacy students will visit Midwestern University and affiliated hospitals in Chicago, USA as part of their pharmacy innovations course in the master’s program.

Dean Khalifa commented: It is a true pleasure to see pharmacy students from the US and UAE working together and discussing the current status and the future of the pharmacy profession in the East and the West. It is obvious that tomorrow will be much better for our profession and our patients.
