The College of Pharmacy (CoP), Gulf Medical University (GMU) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Becton Dickinson (BD) at the World Health Expo (WHX) Dubai, marking a significant milestone in academia-industry collaboration within the healthcare sector. The partnership is designed to enhance training and promote knowledge exchange for CoP-GMU graduates, in line with the UAE’s vision of nurturing a skilled and future-ready healthcare workforce.

Key representatives from both organizations, Mr. Maher Elhassan, VP/GM META at Becton Dickinson, and Prof. Manda Venkatramana, Chancellor of GMU, formally endorsed the agreement in the presence of Jad Ghaziri, Marketing Leader, MMS, META at BD, and Prof. Muhammad Al-Shorbagy, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, GMU.
The collaboration will provide GMU students with practical experience in pharmacy automation, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-life applications in modern healthcare.
