Coffee & Cake 2025: Celebrating Academic Excellence and Students’ Engagement and Leadership at the College of Pharmacy – Gulf Medical University

On November 5, 2025, the College of Pharmacy at Gulf Medical University hosted its annual “Coffee and Cake” celebration for 2025, a cherished tradition dedicated to recognizing students who achieved outstanding academic performance -Dean’s List honourees- as well as those who made remarkable contributions through active participations in college committees, councils, Student Happiness Center (SHC) programs, and extracurricular initiatives during the 2024–2025 academic year.

Annual Coffee and Cake Celebration

The event began with welcoming remarks from Professor Muhammad Al-Shorbagy, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, who commended the students for their exceptional achievements and enthusiastic involvement across the various colleges’ activities. He highlighted the invaluable role of students’ engagement in shaping the college community and encouraged attendees to take pride in their accomplishments.

Following his address, certificates of recognition were awarded to students listed on the Dean’s List across all programs; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) and Diploma in Pharmacy Technician (DPT) — acknowledging their outstanding academic excellence.

The ceremony also proudly honoured students who demonstrated commitment and leadership for the academic year 2024-2025 through their engagements and services as:

  • Members of college committees and councils.
  • Members in different programs of the Student Happiness Center.
  • Executive Committee members of the GMU Pharmacy Students Association (GPSA)
  • Executive Committee members of the IVPN/GMU Student Club.
  • Prescribing Skills Assessment (PSA) top achievers.
  • Class representatives of different programs.
  • Students participated in “Peer Assisted Learning” tutoring.
