GMU PharmD and MCP Students Complete an IVPN Academy Course on Sterile Compounding

In December 2021, IVPN-Network organized a 5-days, 10-hours competency course titled: “IV Therapy and Sterile Compounding: From Basic to Theory.”

This course tackled the safety of IV Therapy and Parenteral Nutrition, the basics of sterile compounding techniques and concepts, hazardous and non-hazardous compounding considerations and USP 797 updates on sterile compounding.

Ruth Alex, who is a 4th year PharmD student, was the winner of the Onco-Lite competition by IVPN Oncology listserv. Hence, she was awarded a free seat to attend this paid course.

Also, Ghattas Saad AbuDawoud, a GMU 2nd year Master of Clinical Pharmacy (MCP) student, also completed this course.

GMU partnership with IVPN-Network is bringing endless opportunities for pharmacy students and professional pharmacists to grow, develop and advance the pharmacy profession.
