
On 29th April 2026, the College of Pharmacy at Gulf Medical University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Emirates Clinical Pharmacy Society, marking another significant step toward strengthening academic and professional collaboration in the field of clinical pharmacy.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Manda Venkatramana, Chancellor of Gulf Medical University, and Dr. Saeed Hussein, President of the Emirates Clinical Pharmacy Society, and was witnessed by Prof. Muhammad AlShorbagy, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, in presence of Dr. Ghattas Abudawoud, Cultural Committee Chairperson, ECPS and alumnus of GMU’s Master in Clinical Pharmacy program. The signing reflects a shared commitment to advancing clinical pharmacy education and practice in the UAE and fostering stronger ties between academia and professional societies.
This collaboration aims to enhance opportunities for GMU pharmacy students and graduates and increase the exposure to clinical pharmacy practice. Discussions during the meeting focused on expanding career pathways for pharmacy graduates, particularly in clinical and patient-centered roles that align with the evolving healthcare needs of the nation.
A key emphasis was placed on the importance of integrating clinical pharmacy experience early in the academic journey, a vision that closely aligns with the College of Pharmacy’s commitment to producing highly skilled, practice-ready pharmacists.
