The College of Pharmacy in collaboration with Thumbay Learning Resource Center at Gulf Medical University organized an orientation session for BPharm students enrolled in the Professional Skills course. Led by the university’s library management team, the session aimed to orient the pharmacy students with essential academic research skills and familiarize them with the digital learning tools available through the GMU e-Library portal. The library director Dr. Mohammed Shafi provided an in-depth explanation of key electronic resources that are needed to solve the written activities during the professional skills course provided with evidence-based practice. The librarian highlighted specialized medical and drug information databases, digital repositories, journals, and online clinical tools accessible via the e-portal.
The COP always aims for full support for the pharmacy students in all aspects and even by integrating the library into the curriculum underscores the GMU commitment to fostering self-directed learning and research literacy early in professional training. By mastering these digital tools, BPharm students are better prepared to handle complex assignments, keep pace with evolving clinical literature, and build a strong foundation for their future pharmacy careers.
