The GMU-IVPN Student Club has successfully hosted a ‘Typhoid Awareness Campaign’ on Tuesday, 21st October, as an initiative aimed to educate all students, faculty, and staff at Gulf Medical University about the Typhoid and its prevention. The campaign, held in the University foyer, provided a thorough overview of Typhoid fever, highlighting the importance of vaccination and hygiene to the community.
The informational posters detailed the signs and symptoms of the disease, the modes of transmission, prevention strategies, and finally a QR code leading to a document which detailed the vaccines required by different countries around the world. Students were briefed on the critical importance of preventative measures, especially while traveling to other countries. These measures include practicing safe food and water habits, understanding the benefits of the Typhoid vaccination, and recognizing the early signs of infection.
The initiative was met with significant engagement from the university community, who showed keen interest in the interactive quiz and informational brochures provided. With a clear and engaging campaign, the GMU-IVPN Student Club has successfully spread awareness about Typhoid, demonstrating the vital role of future pharmacists in public health education.
