Dr. Said Nabil becomes First Clinical Pharmacist in the UAE Awarded Fellowship from the American College of Cardiology (FACC)

The College of Pharmacy at Gulf Medical University is proud to announce that its faculty member, Dr. Said Nabil has been awarded the Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) designation from the American College of Cardiology (ACC), in recognition of his contributions to clinical research, practice, and educational activities in cardiology. The distinction was conferred during the ACC Middle East 2025 together with the 16th Emirates Cardiac Society Conference, held from October 3–5, 2025, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Said Nabil awarded Fellowship

Founded in 1949, the American College of Cardiology (ACC) is one of the world’s leading professional organizations for cardiovascular medicine and a major developer of clinical practice guidelines used by clinicians globally. Dr. Nabil’s recognition by the ACC marks a milestone for the UAE pharmacy community: he is the first clinical pharmacist in the country to receive the FACC designation, and is among the youngest recipients in the region.

The FACC award acknowledges Dr. Nabil’s sustained research output, his role in advancing evidence-based practice in cardiology integrating clinical pharmacy and research. In addition to the distinction itself, the FACC designation qualifies Dr. Nabil to seek formal participation in future ACC guideline-writing committees, creating an opportunity for direct contribution to the development of international cardiovascular recommendations.

Dr. Nabil’s achievement highlights the evolving role of clinical pharmacists as integral members of multidisciplinary cardiovascular teams, bridging clinical practice, medication safety, and research.
