The International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF), through its CP Co-Lab Project under the Professional Development Portfolio and Industrial Skills Event, successfully hosted an international webinar titled “Artificial Intelligence in Pharmacovigilance: Opportunities, Challenges, and Perspectives” on 22 June 2026 in an online format. The webinar featured Dr. Mohammed Salim Karattuthodi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, College of Pharmacy, Gulf Medical University (UAE), as the invited speaker. During the session, Dr. Karattuthodi explored the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in pharmacovigilance and its potential to transform drug safety monitoring and adverse event reporting.
The webinar explored how artificial intelligence is transforming pharmacovigilance by improving adverse drug reaction detection, signal identification, and drug safety surveillance. Participants gained insights into the opportunities and challenges associated with AI implementation, including data quality, regulatory requirements, and ethical considerations.
