Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini joins Gulf Medical University College of Pharmacy

On September 1st, 2021, GMU College of Pharmacy faculty and staff welcomed Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini after joining the College team as a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and a Clinical Pharmacist & Preceptor at Thumbay University Hospital (TUH). Dr. El Ouweini joined from Lebanon where he was a clinical pharmacist, preceptor and instructor at the Lebanese American University and its affiliated Medical Center. Being a graduate of an ASHP-Accredited Post Graduate Residency program and an American Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, Dr. El Ouweini will add significant value specially to the experiential education component of both the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and the Master in Clinical Pharmacy (MCP) programs. Dr. El Ouwieni will work with the existing team of clinical pharmacists in TUH to introduce more clinical pharmacy services and enhance existing services to improve patient outcomes at TUH.

The new appointment of Dr. El Ouweini will serve to bring GMU and IVPN network closer and make many things possible when it comes to advancing pharmacy education and practice.
