
The College of Pharmacy organized a Faculty Development Session on Designing Joint Learning Activities in Pharmacy Education on May 14, 2026, as part of the Faculty Development initiatives for the Academic Year 2025–26. The session was delivered by Dr. Jeanine P. Abrons from University of Iowa Mobile Clinics. Dr. Abrons shared valuable insights on designing and implementing collaborative and integrated learning activities within pharmacy education to enhance student learning experiences and professional competency development.
The seminar focused on innovative approaches to active learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, student engagement, and alignment of learning activities with program outcomes and experiential education requirements. Practical examples and real-world educational strategies were discussed to support effective curriculum delivery and collaborative teaching practices.The session was highly interactive, with faculty members actively engaging in discussions and raising several questions related to curriculum integration, experiential learning, and collaborative educational models. Dr. Abrons addressed the queries comprehensively with relevant examples and practical perspectives.
The program was very well received by the participants, who appreciated the relevance of the topic, the interactive nature of the session, and the valuable insights shared for strengthening pharmacy education practices.
