The GMU-IVPN Student Club successfully implemented an impactful two-day Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Campaign on Thursday, November 20, 2025, and Friday, November 21, 2025. The event was held in BinSina Pharmacy at Zahia City Centre, reflecting an effective industry partnership between academia and the pharmacy sector.
The campaign was strategically located in the pharmacy setting to engage the community to raise awareness about the global health threat posed by AMR and highlight the crucial role of the patient itself in reducing antimicrobial resistance. The informative stall emphasized the pharmacist’s and the public’s essential contribution.
The two-day campaign successfully drew significant engagement from customers, providing valuable public health education directly at the point of access for medications. By employing clear, focused educational leaflets, the event effectively spread awareness and knowledge about AMR for better outcomes for the community. The initiative demonstrated the proactive role that pharmacy students and future pharmacists can play in mitigating the global threat of antimicrobial resistance through effective patient education and promoting responsible antibiotic use within the community pharmacy setting, thereby strengthening the public’s understanding and commitment to stewardship.
