On October 23, 2025, in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the UAE Pharmacy Students Federation (UPSF) – Gulf Medical University Chapter, organized an impactful community awareness event at Infinity Ladies Gym, Ajman.
The initiative aimed to empower women with knowledge about the importance of early detection and regular breast self-examination as a critical step in reducing breast cancer-related mortality. The event featured a detailed explanation on how to correctly perform breast self-examination, followed by hands-on training using a realistic breast examination manikin.
To enhance learning, the team distributed informative leaflets summarizing key steps for proper self-examination and scheduling regular screenings. Fun and interactive educational games were also organized, with participants winning small prizes, creating a friendly and open atmosphere for discussing an often-sensitive topic.
Overall, the event exemplified how pharmacists and pharmacy students can collaborate to advance public health awareness, patient empowerment, and preventive care.
