Report on the Interprofessional Education Event – World Diabetes Day

The College of Nursing participated in an Interprofessional Educational (IPE) event on World Diabetes Day, held on 20th November 2025, where BSN Semester 5 (Year 3) students engaged with great enthusiasm in meaningful learning and community awareness activities. The event aligned with this year’s global theme, “Diabetes and the Workplace: Know More and Do More for Diabetes at Work,” emphasizing the importance of early detection, prevention, and supportive workplace practices.

The program aimed to foster collaboration among future healthcare professionals while enhancing their understanding of diabetes management in real-world settings. Students from the College of Nursing participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and evidence-based knowledge through a series of interactive stations designed for both education and engagement.

World Diabetes Day Event

The highlights of the event were BMI Calculation station, Diabetes Mellitus Crossword Puzzle, Workplace Exercise Demonstration, Interactive Games and Educational Engagement.

The IPE approach enriched the event by encouraging students to collaborate, communicate effectively, and appreciate the roles of various health professionals in diabetes care.

Interprofessional Education Event

The World Diabetes Day IPE Event proved to be a highly impactful and educational platform for both students and participants. It emphasized the relevance of workplace health promotion and empowered future nurses with hands-on experience in interprofessional collaboration.
