Report on the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of Christian Fellowship Hospital, Oddamchatram, Tamil Nadu

The Platinum Jubilee Celebration of Christian Fellowship Hospital (CFH), Oddamchatram, Tamil Nadu, was held to mark 70 years of dedicated service to the community. Prof. Selva Titus Chacko, Dean, College of Nursing, who had earlier served for seven years as the Principal of the School of Nursing at CFH, was invited as the keynote speaker on this memorable occasion.

CFH started as a one bed hospital in rural India at Oddanchatram in a thatched roof by a couple of Visionary Doctors and Healthcare workers. Today stands tall with 255 beds as a multispecialty hospital keeping the vision: ‘Wholesome healing for Transformation. Over the decades, it has grown into a center of excellence in healthcare and education.

The institution has made remarkable progress in nursing education, evolving from training Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANM) to offering Diploma programs, and later advancing to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program with an intake of 60 students. In addition, the hospital conducts Diplomate of National Board (DipNB) programs in several medical specialties for doctors and offers multiple health science programs, thereby contributing significantly to the healthcare workforce of the region and beyond.

The Platinum Jubilee celebration was not only a time to commemorate the hospital’s rich legacy of service but also to reflect on its growth into a distinguished institution that continues to impact lives through compassionate care and quality education.
