As part of the Gulf Medical University Career Fair & Industry Partners Meet 2026, the College of Nursing played an active and visible role in advancing student career readiness, strengthening hospital partnerships, and highlighting nursing leadership within the UAE healthcare system.
While the university-wide event brought together more than 130 healthcare organizations and over 5,000 students and alumni, the College of Nursing organized four exclusive nursing-focused career stalls, providing students with direct access to major healthcare employers and clinical partners. The participating organizations were: Ajman Primary Health Care (PHC), Emirates Health Services, Genefit Clinic, Dubai, Mediclinic Hospital, Dubai and Medcare Hospital, Dubai. Students from the College of Nursing actively visited all the stalls, where they interacted with recruiters, nurse managers, and HR representatives.
The College of Nursing was represented in the Dean’s Panel by Dr. Soma Ali Ibrahim, Associate Dean, College of Nursing who contributed to university-level discussions on workforce readiness, healthcare education, and industry expectations. This ensured that the nursing perspective was meaningfully included in shaping conversations about the future healthcare workforce.

A major highlight of the College of Nursing activities was a dedicated career advising session conducted by Ms. Zahra Mohamed A. Mohamed, Associate Dean – Nursing Education Center, Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), Abu Dhabi.
The session, titled: “From Classroom to Clinical: Surviving & Thriving in Your First Year as a Nurse,” was specifically designed to bridge the gap between academic preparation and real-world clinical practice.

The session was attended by third-year and fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students, who actively participated in discussions on transitioning from student nurse to professional nurse and managing workload, stress, and expectations during the first year of practice. Students engaged enthusiastically through questions and shared reflections, making the session both interactive and impactful.
The College of Nursing also proudly participated in the Industry Partner Recognition Ceremony, honoring organizations and leaders who have consistently supported nursing education through clinical placements, mentorship, recruitment, and academic–practice collaboration.
