The College of Nursing, Gulf Medical University, conducted a structured academic seminar in collaboration with Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMCA) and the MSACCN Cohort 2025. The event aimed to strengthen clinical knowledge and evidence‑based practice related to sepsis, septic shock, and critical care nursing. The program brought together faculty experts, clinical leaders, and postgraduate nursing students, creating a rich platform for academic exchange and professional development.
The seminar commenced with a welcome address delivered by the Organizing Committee, setting the tone for an interactive and academically engaging event. The session was attended by 20 nurses fromm SKMCA. The first scientific session, “Assessment of Patient with Septicaemia,” was facilitated by Dr. Sherouk Nasser, Assistant Professor who emphasized systematic assessment strategies and early identification of sepsis indicators. This was followed by a session on “Nursing Management of Septic Shock – Case Based Approach” by Mr. Sumesh Assariparambil, highlighting real‑world clinical decision‑making and multidisciplinary coordination. The third session, “Evidence‑Based Approach to Sepsis in Critically Ill Adult Patients,” presented by MSACCN First Year Students Ms. Wasan Emad Saleem and Ms. Fatemeh Mostafi, showcased student-led academic contribution, integrating current research findings and clinical guidelines into practice.
The seminar concluded with Feedback & Valedictory, acknowledging participant engagement and reinforcing the importance of continuous learning in critical care nursing. The seminar successfully met its objectives by enhancing participants’ understanding of sepsis assessment, management, and evidence‑based interventions. The blend of expert lectures, case‑based learning, and student presentations enriched the academic experience.
