World Mental Health Day Celebration

The College of Medicine – Gulf Medical University Celebrated World Mental Health Day on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, in the main foyer of the university. The global theme for this year was “Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies.” Preparations began at 11:00 a.m., and the event took place from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Student and Faculty Participation

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members across different colleges. A total of seven posters were developed by students under the supervision of Professor Mayssah El Nayal, while one poster was designed by Dr. Dalia Ali. The posters addressed key mental health topics, including:

  • Coping mechanisms during crises
  • Overcoming difficult times
  • Confronting mental health stigma
  • Strategies for managing stress and crises

Additional interactive activities complemented the poster displays, creating an engaging and informative environment.

The main foyer was vibrant and crowded with attendees who actively engaged in the activities and discussions. Faculty and students from various colleges showed keen interest and appreciation for the creative and informative exhibits. Gifts and tokens of appreciation were presented to students who excelled in selected activities, further motivating participation and involvement.

The celebration was a notable success, reflecting the College’s ongoing commitment to promoting mental health awareness within the university community. The event served as an important platform to disseminate updated knowledge about mental well-being, encourage open conversations, and reinforce the significance of positive coping and emotional resilience, particularly during crises
