The Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) Winter Bootcamp was conducted from November 21–29, 2025 at Gulf Medical University as the face-to-face component of the Year I MHPE programme. Delivered in a nine-day, intensive workshop format, the bootcamp provided an immersive learning environment to strengthen participants’ foundational competencies in health professions education.
The bootcamp was organised by Dr. Farah Azhar, Dr. Pooja Narain Adtani and Dr. Marwa M. Mady, under the guidance of Prof. Remigius Rikers, bringing together the MHPE community for focused, interactive capacity-building.
A key feature of the programme was the contribution of internationally recognised speakers, including Prof. David C. M. Taylor and Prof. Henk G. Schmidt, who shared contemporary perspectives on teaching, learning, and scholarship in medical and health professions education. The MHPE programme faculty participated actively throughout the bootcamp, contributing as facilitators and academic mentors, and supporting the scholarly and collegial learning climate that underpins GMU’s commitment to educational excellence.
